Honesty, I'm not a fan of T.A. She had really good moments, that I enjoyed. But then there were more of those moments that... I just wanted to shake her. She was frustratingly pathetic. Maybe I'm harsh but she had no self respect and sometimes it felt like she built these sand castles, expecting them to last forever and when they are washed away she acts like this was unexpected outcome.Also those different moments, gave me a feeling like I was reading about two different people. Or T.A. was just bipolar because those two sides of her just didn't blend for me.
Jamie Begley has been working her way through all the bitches and the last, T.A. has finally gotten her book. I was looking forward to this one as T.A. was always in the background without much information about her. T.A. is paired up with action star and widower Dalton. After his wife Oceane passed, Dalton cut himself off from the world, vowing to never again love another woman. T.A. falls for Dalton and makes it her mission to wake up the man again.The premise of the book was great. A widower drowning in grief, an audacious woman who hides her good deeds behind a tough image. The opening scene with T.A. sent on an undercover mission to get Dalton to contact his children was hysterical and set a high bar for the rest of the book. Unfortunately, the rest of T.A. fell short.The character development, especially that of the heroine T.A. herself was lacking. While there are short glimpses into who she is and how much she gives of herself they are few and far between. Dalton is slightly more rounded out as his internal monologues as he reminisces about his life with his wife.The story itself moves at a quick pace, almost to quick. There are time jumps that as a reader wish were filled in instead and there are some side plots that are left open ended or ignored altogether. And, I sad to say, that there are quite a few editing issues that have become par for the course with Ms. Begley's books.Overall, not a terrible addition to the Biker Bitches, Last Rider collection of stories just not as much as I would have wanted.
Wasn't expecting much from this book and that's what I got. No connection between the Dalton and TA. Very rushed. A year passed between chapters so was confusing. Did like the banter between the BB'S and the hints of Gavin. Last few book have been very disappointing.
It started with Rider, followed with Stalked and the Penni/Jackel disaster...I am no longer a believer. Previously portrayed as strong women, when they get their own story they turn into doormats.However, this one really topped them all. What an idiot. T.A. - what can I say?Dalton...meh.Plus the standard no ending.Not even going to write about the complete non story!
The author seemed to rush the storyline and failed to develop the characters or the realtionship between T.A. and Dalton. T.A. comes off as a sloppy drunk, with low self-esteem and no self worth. She sleeps around with guys no one else wants (bottom of the barrell, low lifes that no one else would look at twice, who also use her). She volunteers in the community (which is supposed to make the reader see how great she is...not sure, since the rest of her character is written so poorly). She gets used by everyone around her. Dalton's written as a widow, movie star, Producer and Director. He hooks up with TA to make his kids (in their 30's and T.A.'s age), happy, so they will stop worrying about him. There is a big age gap and Jamie fails to capture a love story comparable to his deceased wife. Jamie spent more time describing his wife and how great she was instead of developing T.A. Dalton settles for T.A. because she is easy, worships him and requires little work in the relationship department. She is grateful that he sleeps with her and decides to stay with her that It makes his life easy in his old age. His first wife seemed high maintenance, but he worshiped her as did his children. I feel terrible for T.A.!!!! She ended up with an old senior citizen, while her friends ended up with guys in their prime. Not sure why Dax (Daltons son, who is hot and her age) wasn't her love interest. T.A. had a crap life growing up, has been treated like crap by every guy she slept with (She wasn't picky) and now she is with a guy who picked her for convenience. It seems as if Jamie put more time and care in the "Last Riders" series. Very disappointed, as I was in Stalked. I also noticed she is really trying to build up the hype for Ginny's storyline. That character has been integrated into the last 3 books Jamie wrote. Hopefully, there is a lot more time and effort in that book.
I have to tell you I didn't think about T.A much , I mean when her and sex piston was talking about Stud in another book I thought it was funny but T.A come off to me as sweet but not stable, this book changed my mind about her for the better, she was sweet and surprising as well. Now Dalton was a hurting man lost with out his wife, his kids was worried about him being home and going back to his past. He had a very hard time seeing any woman in front of him, That was the hard part for me because I think he hurt T.A. before he saw what he had. Loved seeing all others characters from JAMIE books ,I don't want to say much about this book but you will have surprises and seeing Gavin I am interested in him now also another character from her other book that I wanting to see her story. This book was a great book about second chance for the love when you didn't think there was one! Thank you jamie, but you kill me with the mysteries. Can't wait for next book!💗
