Dr. Michael A. Ellis was born and raised in Vero Beach, FL. He attended medical school at Nova Southeastern School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia. He is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and expert in treating Autism Spectrum Disorder. He seeks to educate the parents of children with ASD to help both the parents and the children navigate the medical and lifestyle challenges on this life-long journey. He has a wife and 3 children and the oldest child, currently 13 years old, has autism spectrum disorder.

I think this book is a must have for parents of children with Autism. Whether your child has been recently diagnosed or living with ASD for a while, it is so interesting learning ways to cope and handle day to day challenges from a dad and doctor who own child lives with AU!
I would highly recommend this book for parents with newly diagnosed ASD children. It covered a good breadth of the topics that have come up since my child's diagnosis.
Michael has done an excellent job with this book. As a professional therapist working with ASD students in a residential program, as well as raising a daughter with ASD I found this book helpful and supportive. It will definatly be a book I recommend to my clients parents, as they are needing support with the struggles thier children and families face. Thank You! Michael, for a job well done.

I highly recommended this book to a care giver. I was embraced in the points of this book and how it identifies the struggles of a care giver and the obstacles that a care giver faces in the caring for their loved ones. I especially like how he can relate as a expert in the field and a care giver of a child with autism. This is a must have book on the shelf for a care giver and clinicians in the field.
