About the Author
Jane Austen was born on December 16, 1775, in Steventon, Hampshire, England. While not widely known in her own time, Austen's comic novels of love among the landed gentry gained popularity after 1869, and her reputation skyrocketed in the 20th century. Her novels, including Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility, are considered literary classics, bridging the gap between romance and realism. Brooke earned a BA in English and editing from Brigham Young University. The author of If It Fits, I Sits: The Ultimate Cat Quotebook and coauthor of The Ultimate Guide to Being a Superhero, Brooke is also the managing editor at Familius. The oldest of seven children and a believer in the importance of family, Brooke is proud to be a part of the Familius family and a proponent of its mission. She and her husband, their daughter, and their cat live in Pleasant Grove, Utah. David Miles makes books for a living. He also reads books, writes books, sells books, shelves books, thinks about books, drives to books, sleeps to books, and cooks from books, but he doesn't eat books (which is fortunate). This book is darling!!! It is well made for little hands and it's so creative with it's pull outs, doors to open, and letters that fold down. My favorite is when the book slides in front of Mr. Bennet's face when he's in the window. :) The story is only a little out of order than the original, and the town of Meryton is spelled incorrectly, but that won't bother my 4 year old niece at all, and will be a perfect introduction for her to the greatest novel ever written. Well done! I'll be purchasing additional for myself and for friends at Christmas.
The book was darling and encapsulated the essence of Pride and Prejudice in a few simple pages. The illustrations were sweet and charming. Even as an adult I was entertained with the interactive elements of the book, as was my almost-three-year-old granddaughter, Nora. And, unlike many books of this type, it is sturdy and will hold up to many readings, flap openings, dancers twirling, and forehead soothings (get the book to find out what that's all about). A wonderful introduction to the world of Jane Austin!
Great book and beautifully made. The book is highly durable from my 10 month old to my 4.5 year old who loves to read it.
This book is adorable. As a die hard Pride and Prejudice fan, I couldn't imagine a cuter children's version.

This was a hit with the toddler that I bought it for. She was able to interact with it and her parents appreciated that it told a story.
Perfect adaptation. I laughed out loud at the creativity. We especially enjoy sliding the hanky to pat poor, ill Jane’s forehead.
